Residential Garage Floors

A Garage Floor You Can Actually Be Proud Of

Your garage is more than a place to park the car — it's where you work on stuff, store the toys, run the home gym, keep the kids' sports gear, and hide the junk that's not quite ready for the garage sale. A cracked, pitted, oil-stained floor drags the whole space down. A clean, smooth concrete slab changes everything.

Corbett's Contracting installs concrete garage floors across Wilmington, Ohio and Southwest Ohio for attached garages, detached garages, workshops, and hobby shops. New pours, tear-outs and replacements, slab extensions, and everything in between.

Proper thickness for what you'll park inside, clean broom or smooth finish, and joint work done right so you're not looking at random cracks in two years.

FAQ

Garage Floor Questions

How thick should my garage floor be?
4 inches is the standard for residential garages holding cars, trucks, and normal stuff. If you're planning a lift, heavy truck, RV storage, or a full shop with machines, we recommend 5-6 inches with rebar or wire mesh reinforcement.
Can you replace a garage floor without damaging the walls?
Yes — it's a careful job. We cut and remove the slab cleanly without disturbing the foundation walls or stemwall. Access through the garage door is the main consideration, and we protect the rest of the structure during demo.
Should I coat or epoxy my new garage floor?
Coatings look great and protect the slab, but they need a properly cured and prepped floor to stick. If you want to coat it, wait at least 30 days after the pour. We're concrete guys, not coating guys — but we'll leave the floor ready for a pro coater if that's your plan.
How long until I can park on a new garage floor?
Walk on it after 24 hours. Light cars after 7 days. Heavy vehicles and storage after 28 days when it reaches full strength. We'll tell you specific timelines based on the pour conditions.
Why does my old garage floor crack?
Usually one of three things — bad base prep under the original pour, missing or badly spaced control joints, or the slab is too thin for what's on it. All three are fixable with a proper replacement.
